Beautiful Resorts At Beaches in Thailand

The beautiful beaches in Thailand are among the best in the world. With the stunning surroundings, beautiful weather, white sandy beaches, and turquoise waters, it is no wonder Thailand is one of the top destinations for beach holidays.

Beach resorts in Thailand

Phuket in Thailand has some amazing beach resorts which offer the complete deal. On my last trip to beaches in Thailand, we stayed in Phuket. I looked specifically for a family resort as I have 2 children, therefore it was important for me to ensure there are lots of activities for the kids so they can have their fun while my wife and I get a little ‘chill out’ time.

Where Are the Beautiful Beaches in Thailand?

Here is a list of some beach resorts in Thailand that I would recommend checking out:

Grand West Sands Resort & Villas Phuket: I have personally stayed there and from the check-in to check-out, everything was beyond the expectations you’d have from a  4-star hotel. This is a family resort with a great water park for kids, fantastic beach facilities, excellent buffet breakfast and comfortable rooms. It is, in my opinion, the best that money will buy in Phuket. Also their holiday packages are just great!

Beachs in Thailand

First of all, the staff is super friendly and does not hesitate in doing everything possible to please their guests.

One afternoon when we came back from the beach, I was a little upset as there were only 2 fresh towels after housekeeping cleaned our room.

After calling reception and telling them about this issue, things changed.

We not only received 4 towels each day but extra shower gels, conditioners, and hand lotions too!

As I always say, if there is a problem, confront the issue right away rather than living with disappointment. It is surprising how many times I have done this and got the most out of a hotel or resort, leaving every time with just great memories and no regrets at beaches in Thailand.

Trisara – Phuket: is the place for you if you are looking for top oceanfront villas that offer nothing but the best of luxury. There are 48 beautiful and spacious pool villas, each facing the ocean. According to, “Trisara” in Sanskrit translates to “The Garden in the Third Heaven”, which they claim provides Phuket Island’s most amazing resort experience.”

From the six-hand massage, a game of golf, and scuba diving, to a private poolside barbecue, there are endless temptations of things to do. But of course, you may just want to relax in your private sea view pool sipping on a nice drink.

Beautiful Beaches in Koh Samui

Bo Phut Resort & Spa which is located in the northern partbeaches in Thailand of Koh Samui. It is, among the best that money will buy in Koh Samui. I spent weeks researching Koh Samui to find the best possible resort for my parents.

Taking into consideration the beautiful beaches, spacious rooms with a sea view or garden view, great buffet breakfast, good location (walking distance to the Bo Phut Village) for dining out of the hotel or shopping – the place was just ideal!

Bo Phut Resort offers something for everyone so I would definitely recommend you consider looking at this resort if you plan to go to Koh Samui.

In comparison to other resorts in Koh Samui, this one is luxurious and provides the best value for money that I could find among the beaches in Thailand.

The Mai Samui Beach Resort is another amazing resort in Koh Samui. It is suitable for couples rather than families. So if you are looking for a relaxing, secluded, romantic getaway, this might be the resort for you.

In addition, it is located away from the mainstream tourist areas and therefore I would only consider this hotel if I were looking for a quiet and relaxing holiday within the hotel because there isn’t much to do within walking distance.

Of course, taxis are available but they are not that cheap. So you may want to consider that if you want attractions outside the hotel. Overall, I think that this resort offers good standard hospitality, perhaps not a 5 star in my opinion but definitely a very good 4 star.

Phang Nga Bay

The Koyao Island Resort is located in the Phang Nga Bay. This island offers several beautiful beaches. All of the luxury villas in the resort face the beach and have their own private garden. Being situated in a remote area makes this resort special as it is far away from the busy tourist hubs. The island resort is surrounded by rainforests and other uninhabited islands.

The Koyao Island Resort “is designed in a traditional Thai architectural style which blends graciously into a coconut palm setting. Each villa faces the beach for stunning views over the bay”.

The Banyan Tree Samui Resort located in Koh Samui is another outstanding resort with private villas. The resort is designed in traditional Thai style. Also, each villa has a private infinity pool which overlooks the beautiful beaches and the mountain cliffs.

“Banyan Tree Samui was a stand out from the moment it opened in 2011.” Condé Nast Traveller summed it up; they awarded it Best New Beach Hotel – in the world.

Furthermore, the 78 villas of Banyan Tree Resort are high on the hillside overlooking the private Lamai Bay Beach. This is a very expensive resort but there is no doubt that it is worth every penny.

Koh Lanta Krabi

Pimalai Resort & Spa is located on an island not too far from Krabi. The luxurious, exclusive, and elegant resort is surrounded by tropical forests with direct access to the white sandy beach.

There are 8 restaurants and bars to choose from so you will have plenty of cuisine options to choose from. It also has two infinity pools and a spa to keep you relax and pampered throughout your stay.

For the more energy minded, a game of tennis to burn off a few calories after breakfast and perhaps a dive tour taking you into the underwater world of sea marine life will be more enticing.

Whatever it may be that you feel like doing, you will most probably find it here. The super friendly and helpful staff will be happy to assist and point you in the right direction.

Phi Phi Islands

Phi Phi Island Village Beach Resort & Spa is a real beauty! This is a world-famous island where Leonardo DiCaprio starred in a movie called “The Beach”. The island is so secluded and disconnected from big crowds and chaos that only peace, tranquility, and serenity awaits you there.

beaches in Thailand

The spacious – Thai style – bungalows are all unique in their design and feature thatching roofs. There are twelve pool villas offering satellite TV, mini-bar, safe, complimentary WIFI and much more topped off with a beautiful large terrace for your comfort and relaxation.

Besides all of that, it is astonishing to have such a beautiful resort with big swimming pools on a small island. The Ruan Thai Restaurant is something you should try for a romantic dinner date. The candlelit terrace which overlooks the infinity pool and bay is breathtaking.

No words can truly describe Koh Phi Phi Island. The beautiful beaches in Thailand and its spectacular views surrounded by the Andaman Sea are among the best in the world.

Thailand is certainly one of the best country where I usually spend my holiday at the beach just to bask under the hot sun and to glance over a vast azure sea. I love your review and this makes my memory even more memorable. Thank you.

Thank you for your comment Simulan. I definitely agree with you here, it is definitely my top destination for a beach holiday. The great thing is that no matter how many times I go back to Thailand, there are so many beaches and beach resorts that even if we stay in a different resort every holiday, we will never run out of new choices for the next holiday in Thailand.

Excellent article. Phi Phi is my favourite beach from your list. What do you think about Railay beach? Guess that should be added to the list as well.

    Hi Merin,
Thank you for your comment. I have always told everyone that Phi Phi is an absolute must for anyone looking to experience the real beauty of Thailand beaches and waters although Similan Islands – in my opinion – are even better as far as the white sand and the beautiful turquoise water. You are definitely right about Railay beach, it should never be amongst my list of best beaches in Thailand but that just goes to show how much Thailand has to offer. Thailand beaches are simply beautiful.

Beach pics are just amazing. I’m so glad that I found this. This is definitely a great resource for all who are planning to visit Thailand. I was planning a trip to Thailand during Christmas vacation. Can you suggest less crowded beaches for me? Maybe something with a rock climbing option?

Hi Natalie,
Thank you for your kind words and valuable questions. From my experience in Thailand, I would recommend Koh Samui for that laid-back, relaxing and soothing vacation. That is not to say that there isn’t a great vibe and nightlife but you will find many less crowded/commercial beaches. Choeng Mon Beach would an excellent example. If you are looking for some rock climbing action then try Phra Nang Beach – Krabi. I hope that you have a great time in Thailand over your Christmas break.
